The Pipe along with the Pistol are your default weapons. It has been known to frag an opponent as a last resort in a desperate situation. This brings great humiliation to your opponent. I only use it by accident. |

The Crow bar is the rarest weapon in Kingpin. This doesn't mean its not sought after. Get your hands on one of these and hit any opponent twice, and its lights out. Inflicting 50% damage per blow, this weapon is brutal. But it does have its draw backs, that being it is a completely useless weapon unless your face to face with an opponent. Keep it in reserve and use it to humiliate an unsuspecting victim. |

The Pistol along with your pipe are your default weapons. the pistol can be a handy weapon especially if you know your opponent is low on health. Don't forget to shoot it at your enemy as you go looking for a more powerful weapon for the situation. You never know how much health your opponent has. Don't rely on it to get you 30 frags though |

The Shotgun is a high impact close range weapon. It is as lethal as an HMG on unprotected opponents at close range. Its firepower is limited over longer ranges and should only be used in close combat situations. In addition the reload is a real pain when you are closing in on a kill. "Well, my favourite weapon is the shotty. People seem to think that stupid number 3 weapon which is slow, reload takes ages, and average when far away. But they don't know how to use it. There are numerous techniques but I only really think a few are worth the trouble. My aim with the shotty is to kill with one shot, therefore you have to be close. Run at them chase them down and blast at the head. Simple. If someone is running at you, then strafe and slide and shoot just ahead of them as they run past, that simple way is the way I have killed 4 or 5 people within a minute with a crappy old shotty. Other techniques are jumping and shooting down on them which results in the bullets seeming not to spray as much for some reason and also in circle face offs shoot in front, allowing for firing delay and ping. The Tommy Gun is an excellent weapon for quick kills at close range. Used in combination with a good strafe technique the Tommy will win you most close range single combat situations in deathmatch. Its rate of fire is of important significance at close range against weapons like HMGs and Rocket Launchers. "Also known as "The Chicago Piano", when wielded in the right hands the Tommy Gun is a devastating weapon. Whilst not as powerful or as accurate as its big brother the HMG, short sharp busrts at close range can often prove fatal to the Tommy Gun victim. Due to its inaccuracy, the Tommy's lethality over long distances can prove a little slow, but the ability to "feel your way around" your opponent is disconcerting for the prone sharp shooter at best. The freedom of movement the Tommy offers is second to none. Suicides, an obstacle often encountered when using explosive weapons, are not a concern for the would be assassin. In a heated fire-fight you can take either evasive or offensive action and be assured of only moving forwards in your kill count. The ability to pepper multiple opponents with no fear of damaging yourself is a major advantage no other weapon delivers. Thats why I choose my Tommy over any other weapon in my arsenal." The HMG and HMG with Cooling Mod The Heavy Machine Gun (HMG) is arguably the most powerful and most used weapon in the game. It is devastating at both close and long range. Proper use of the HMG will win you most contests. Its rate of fire is slow however and will get you in trouble in close range combat against most other weapons. "The HMG, aka Heavy Machine Gun equals instant death.. This weapon is the most fought over tool off destruction made even better if collected with the cooling mod (picture on lower left). Fired in volleys off 3 bullets , it instantly brings down an enemy opponent with extreme force unless they have full armour by witch another 3 shots ...DEAD... Its weakness would be the time in between the next 3 shots , However.. find the cooling mod and u get a faster rate of fire for a limited time making u 1 dangerous individual (even better if u have full armour) Close up fighting , unless your a dead shot... watch ya ass. The Grenade Launcher is again a very powerful weapon. Used with experience and skill you can take down multiple opponents with one round. Be careful not to take yourself out with it though D'oh. "The most lethal weapon in the whole game, is in fact the grenade. A point-blank explosion will take off about 300 health, with no armour. Even full armour does not prevent death, at close range. It also has an EXTREMELY large radius range upon exploding. It is very effective in taking out multiple targets, sometimes up to 4-5 players. There are a number of different tricks to employ when using the grenade. But you must note, the grenade should never be used as a primary weapon, in that it is essentially a defensive weapon. Never use the grenade launcher, if you are being stalked by someone with an offensive weapon such as a rocket launcher or HMG, at close range. The grenade launcher is best used as a weapon of retreat. If you find, that you are being battered down by a better equipped player (HMG with cooler), and are rapidly loosing health/armour, aim the grenade launcher directly upwards, or in such a manner, that it will land right behind you, as you retreat, and block the path of your opponent. The advantage of aiming directly upwards, is the difficulty, in seeing where the grenade will land, and this generally results in the other player foolishly walking into a death trap. Bouncing the grenade off walls, is effective in dealing with opponents, in small rooms, at close-medium range. One thing to note, ! is that if incorrectly used, the grenade launcher can be suicidal, as I have found on several occasions =)" Pearls of Wisdom courtesy of [=TF=]Syko

The Rocket launcher packs some punch. At both close and long range and especially in confined areas you will be lucky to survive a Rocket Launcher attack from a skilled opponent. "Rockets are a damaging weapon that can usually take out an opponent in 1 hit. Since they are slow to fire it is all about predicting the opponent and aiming at where you think they are headed. When using rockets one must try to remain close, but not to close, to the opponent, as if shot from afar they are easy to dodge. Splash damage also plays a big part....shooting at a wall near the opponent or at their feet will often result in a greater loss of health. Rocket Jumps are also handy to reach those hard to get places, if used effectively, this can give you the advantage and add an element of surprise to your game." The mother of weapons the Flamer will get you hot and crispy in no time. It is my personal fav weapon. It is particularly affective against armour. You can corner and frag several opponents particularly if they are distracted in their own battle. It does chew through the ammo though so be careful. "Well my fav weapon since I first started playing Kingpin is the Flamer. There are many reasons for this. It made me seem a bit better then I really was when I first started playing I think, as this weapon doesn't take a great amount of skill to aim and hit someone. But overtime as I have got better and better and can use most weapons pretty well, the flamer has still remained my most used weapon. One of the biggest advantages of the flamer is the area it covers when you use it. Most people underestimate its reach and therefore get toasted pretty quickly. One of my main reasons for using the flamer is its ability to blind people while you are burning them, and even though the gas for the flamer runs out pretty quick, once you start burning them and obstruct their vision you can quickly change to another weapon and finish them off =) Another great advantage of the flamer is once you start burning someone they stay on fire for quite a while. So if your opponent does get a shot off and kill you, and you have managed to start toasting them, you can sometimes find yourself respawning and watching your frag count tick up as they died from still being on fire. Another one of my fav things to do is to run into a heated battle of a group of players and circle strafe around them and toast the shit out of them. Because of the flamers reach you can easily toast a group of opponents in one go. Even though it does piss them off =P Even though I like to keep it a secret, I also use the flammer to shield myself from rockets. Some people don't think it works, but everytime I have fired up my flammer when faced with an oncoming rocket it has shielded me as long as the rocket is on the direct path to your flammer nozzle =)" Pearls of Wisdom courtesy of Zoltrix{GFC} |
